Categories, attributes and product variations

Use categories to organise your catalogue, and attributes + variations for products that come in several sizes, colours or materials.

Categories

1. Open the Categories tab and click Add Category.
2. Enter the Name. To make a sub-category, choose a Parent Category. Add a description and a sort order if you like.
3. Save. Then choose the category in the Category box of each product.

Attributes

1. Open the Attributes tab and click Add Attribute.
2. Enter a name such as Color, Size or Material (the slug is filled automatically).
3. Add its values separated by commas, for example Red, Blue, Yellow, and click + Add value.

Variable products

1. Add or edit a product and set Product Type to Variable (with variations).
2. In Variations pick the attributes the product varies by and click Generate Variations. One row is made for each combination (for example Red / M, Red / L, Blue / M…).
3. For each variation enter its SKU, sale Rate, Purchase price and Stock. Remove any combination you don’t sell.
4. Save the product.
